Really great read!

This book is kind of sad which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. I'm an extremely emotional person and I cry when someone else cries so I definitely feel for both Mariah and Faith while reading this book.
The beginning was a huge surprise to me because it went to Mariah describing how great her marriage was to her and her daughter both walking in on her husband with another woman. The circus event made me literally sick to my stomach and I had to read it twice to make sure that I understood what happened correctly.
The guard that Faith sees/has after that one episode really creeped me out for some odd reason! I don't believe in the supernatural and I'm fairly certain that I never had any imaginary friends growing up so that could have something to do with why it bothered me.
It upset me that Mariah let her ex into the house cheerfully, but I was glad that her Mom stepped in and told him he wasn't welcome and needed to leave. What a puke! I actually felt he deserved it when his new girlfriend told him she was pregnant not long after because that was definitely not what he wanted.
Overall this is a good read just like any other Jodi Picoult book, it's hard to put down and make myself go to sleep. So far I would recommend all the Jodi Picoult books that I have read because her writing style is so real that her characters just speak to you in a way that I can't explain. It's like I find myself understanding everyone's reasons for doing things even if I normally wouldn't agree with them.

Is god a girl?

Even though this book was somewhat predictable, I loved it. I was sad when it was over. I felt for all of the characters and the alternating points of view gave great perspective to all of the characters. My favorite Picoult book so far! Gives great perspectives on religion and whether or not god has a gender.
